I have a big tree at the side of the house. One main trunk has lots of branches over my the roof of the house. I am thinking cutting that trunk. The contractor warns me that eventually it will deteriorate the root and have negative impact to the other trunk. Is that true? If yes in what timeline I will see the whole tree die? Thanks |

Need more info and maybe pictures. How big the tree is, species, limb size etc. Quote:
Also roots in tension which would be opposite your house wouldn't be affected a great deal, these are likely the most important roots for stability. See if you can get some pics and species etc up for us.
