Whats also amazing is how much of it there is when you know what your looking at, from my observations always similar but never identical..

The big bushiness of it kinda gives it away, but yea, in some cases its hard to ID them.

Has it evolved that way so arborists are less likely to remove it?

Hello, i have this tafe assignment witch is a scenario, and i need to find out about two plants that are growing in the host "Casuarina cunninghamiana" I have found one witch is a mistletoe "Amyema cambegei" or Casuarina mistletoe. The other weed i am looking for has a light to lime green also yellow leaf, kind of looks verigated, ovate in shape and very dense and bushy with thick dark green to brown main stems, if anyone has any info please let me know it would be much appreciated. Adam.

Another mistletoe found around here on Casuarinas is Lysiana subfalcata. It has more normal shaped leaves and is sometimes yellowish. I remember both types being common on forest oak (Allocasuarina torulosa) along the Expedition Range in central Queensland. Pics can be seen of a few varieties here: North Queensland Plants Adam, There are several other species of Lysiana, this is just one I am familiar with to help you along. RM |

Hi, Here is couple of photos of mistletoe off a Platanus x hybrida This particular mistletoe looks nothing like the host tree canopy... ![]() ![]() The tree was lousy with mistletoe, and please forgive the quality of the photos as they are taken from my phone as it's alway with me...well most time anyway.
