brown tree leafs on my oak

Hi. If anyone can help my tree has brown leaves and green leaves, but most are brown. What is going on? I have two in my yard but only one has these symptoms. anyone on advise?

ok. i'll get them asap. however i had time to examine the tree this morning and it has these hard round things that look like nests. there circumfernce is about a nickel size. they were solid at first and now they have wholes just bigger that a pin size. help kiwi steve

Could be oak gall.

it could be a horned twig gall wasp.
