Default Brisbane - native bees

This may not be the right place to put this, but I am sure someone will flame me to death if it's not.

I am not an Arborist. The only experience I have with trees is falling out of them.

I want to keep native bees. Stingless ones seem to be the way to go primarily because I hate things that sting me.

My mate in Gympie has been gathering a few in his work bush clearing. Seems he chainsaws the hive section out and seals the ends and takes them home. The drive from Gympie back to here would apparently end up with no survivors.

It occurs to me that there are a lot of you blokes out there everyday removing trees - we seem to have blokes working damn near fulltime out here at Forest Lake.

What I want to know is:
How often do you find native bee hives, and what do you guys do with nests that you find, other than put them through the Vermeer?

I am wondering if I should chase you blokes around and grab one?

I have just been told by the missus that I am not allowed to fill the backyard with 'em, so I may be limited to a couple until I get rid of her.

Now the big question - payment. If you blokes can chop one out and ring me to come and get it, what am I looking at. Would a suitable payment method involve beer or actual cash?

Right now it's just a question, and I hope it's in the right section.
Thanks.

Thanks for that - I can get a proper hives from those people too. Apparently he's just out Kenmore way.

Appreciate your help.
