Smile Best Wishes Adam Tom Speedy Recovery

Just a short bit of info that may be of interest to Arbs beyond these shores...just heard this arvo that Adam Tom had his heart transplant a few days ago...all went very well, best possible outcomes apparently, and he is looking at having a much better xmas than was the case two weeks back.

Some of you may know of Adam, some of you may actually know him a bit better than that.

I think its great that he and his family can focus on his recovery now and getting back into trees next year...all the best Adam from your mates in Townsville North Queensland I look forward to annoying the hell out of you at the ISAAC conference in May

Hey Sean

I worked with Adam about 15 years ago for a short period. I have some pictures of the ol baastard somewhere, I'll dig them out tomorrow. An absolute giant but true gentleman, not to mention one of the most knowledgeble and ethical treemen that Ive had the pleasure to work with. Send him my best wishes Sean. Thanks

Just to follow up on this to say that I saw and spoke to at some length with Adam at the ISAAC conference last week, he is recovering well from the op, still has to take it easy..lucky him!
Also passed on the sentiment from others that he now has no excuse for any bad attitude since despite appearances to the contrary we know for cetain that he does have a heart...at least for the time being.

Thanks for that Sean. I had the pleasure of being introduced to Adam at TCI expo a few years ago - he told me how they went about undertaking those enormous tree moving projetcs. Very impressive stuff.

I'm glad he is making a good recovery.

Best wishes.

That was actually the first time I'd ever seen a throwline so Adam was just giving me a head start. To answer you question, No, if its a removal I generally just spike right up from the bottom....unless of course there's a really easy and obvious target, or perhaps where I need to do some essential cutting on the way up.
