Default Best saddle for the back

I've reached a point after a year and half of occasional climbing that I
feel I need a new saddle. One that will not be so hard on my back, but
I have feeling it's the nature of the business. I have been using a Weaver
wide back saddle with butt strap with modifications to ease the pain on
my hips. I'm a small thin guy over 50. That has helped my hips but not my back I can spike up a TD tree with my lanyard but it kills my back the
next day. Any advice is most welcome and believe it or not, I want to do
this in my semi-retirement years. Did all kinds of sports when I was
younger and so I'm still fairly physically fit. I read something about the
TreeMotion saddle at Sherrill but the picture of it does not have me con-
vinced. Thanks for any recommendations!

Tree Flex was a hit at TCIA Expo. Very well designed harness and gives good support. Bailey's sells them.

DONT BUY IT! The harness is better suited for rock climbing. I had one and before I got my buck traverse that thing was cutting me in half. It is so bloody dam uncomfortable.

I like my traverse alot, but the Tree Motion definately blows it away. I tried on the Tree Motion when a salesbloke came to our class trying to flog stuff off. This thing instantly moulds to your groove and has great support. The only thing I didn't try was clipping a saw to it, as apparently Jimfrom NZ says its like the harness is being pulled offa you when you have one dangling. Go to your local arb shop that sells the Tree Motion and try it out, im pretty sure you'll be convinced.

Jim, we need ya here to give your rating.

I've been climbing in a Tree Motion for a few months now and love it. I don't think i could go back to anything else.

If you clip your chainsaw up, rather than have it dangle, it is still good and confortable with a chainsaw attached. I think that is the point Jim made.

The best thing about it is that it good and confortable when sitting but it is still really good when you want to move.

I have noticed though that there is a spot on the leg straps that is wearing a little already and i don't climb everyday anymore.
