Boy, hasn t it been a little ("yawn") boring around here for a couple of days? Does anyone really think this logging stuff is more dangerous than residential tree work? (see above video lst post) |

| I was thinking the same thing treevet. Maybe treeguys are just smarter than loggers ? Did you see the guy with the 1 finger/mechanical hand " yar, its just a paper cut " ? Looks interesting though, these guys are allready hamming it up for the cammera !

I agree with the hamming. The one guy/moderator comes on with "it s life or death every day. Logs are snapping, chokers are snapping (with that a choker snaps on que) and blades are snapping." ......How s a blade going to snap. If he s talking about a bar, they bend sometimes, but snap....? If he s talking about chains snapping, I ve heard those guys talking on documentaries about chainsaw chains snapping and flying around your neck. Usually when mine snaps it is no longer driven by the sprocket....... and just quits being driven. I think that guy might be an actor. ![]() Does look like it s going to be some fun. Esp after watching "Ice Drivers" or whatever and that series was pretty good. Lot of frozen toes out there! |

I quit watching it but occassionally I'll watch a few minutes if I can stand it. The town of one of the foremen had a huge storm and the guy decided to clear the road to town as it was blocked. You could he was cutting and hoping for the best results (not getting hurt) kind of like a homeowner does. He got away with it but when you cut and hope you WILL get hurt sooner or later. |

it only works on the hd history channel in canada so u have to download it or pay for the channel. pretty gay. i think logging is way more dangerous than residential, far more close calls and in town if u get hurt u can call an ambulance and be at a hospital like nothing. in the bush ur lucky if u can make it to a hospital in less than 2 hours. minor injuries become very serious. but the guys in that show are a gong show and as the industry becomes smaller those guys run out of work because they miss to many safety's |
