Hello, I live in Wisconsin and am thinking of planting some Austrian Pine trees to use for privacy from a busy street I live on. Supposedly these are very tolerant trees (salt and winter) and like almost any soil. My concern is the Diplodia Tip Blight these trees are known to get in the Midwest as well as Needle Blight. I read that Diplodia does not show up until 15-20 years down the road. I don't plan on living in this house that long, so that does not bother me. Should I be concerned about these diseases for this tree? I have a 58 foot long space that I wish to block off for privacy... how many Austrian Pines would you plant and how far apart from each? Thanks! |
