Lightbulb Arborist stoning in Sydney!

http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=daa_1182079833

Now there's a must see flash video embedded in that article, I cannot lift it so hopefully the link stays live.

For the people who haven't believed my stories in the past, this is no BS and there'd be few arborists who haven't copped this (perhaps not the stones though).

The arborist was polite, I'd have told the guy to go get well ******!

That is quite extraordinary footage, makes you wonder about the sanity of some people...yes I'll throw stones at that fella up the tree next door who has a chainsaw in his hands, there'll be no repercussions!

When you're revving a chainsaw up at 7am in a block of units you get to hear a few nice words.

Hi All,
Where this happened and surrounding suburbs are where some of the richest folk in Sydney live,It does not liscence them to pelt stones at Arborists though, although some, not all, think so!
Anything you do down there you carry all relevent paperwork, council permits to carry out work, and work to the utmost professional standard you can.Because as you know every ones an expert in our field were just monkey's that should be fed bananas..rock's thrown at us and ofcourse my pet hate spat on!.
You deal with them as best you can,it's usally best to let your customer liase with them,as they generally have house keeper and grounds people,They allways challenge you to see if you have permission to under take the work you are doing,I've been asked by all 3 niebs on one job!above all keep your cool,if it's to bad ring the police and let them sort this out.any lost time adjust your invoice at the end the job. That bloke throwing the stones I've seen his worker's waveing car wash signs at you as you drive past, and I thought it was keen, and wrote it off as typical curries, but once I read about his signage drama with council it explained it all.
He needs the 99TH monkey treatment, you know the one that loads his hand full of shyte and throws it rite in the face!

Ive had it happen happen! We had a Lombady Poplar to take down, it was fully mature as it goes (big weed, but thats my view). The reason for the tree to be removed was it was causing damage to a council houses foundations that the "posh" estate backed on to. I was probably about 50ft up it throwing dead branches out as is i ascended upwards to get anchored, then there was a big commotion down below. Some crazy pensionor from next door had come into the property going mad about the tree having to be removed and tried standing under the tree. After 20 mins of trying to reason with the silly sod he started trying to swing/pull on my lines, the ground staff had to in restrain him (reluctantly cause of his age)! Had to call the old bill on him and after 3 hours with the police, planning department, insurance company the problem was resolved and if the bloke ever set foot on the property again he would get arrested. close to that video but he pi88ed me off that much he was lucky he didnt get "some dead wood on the head".

That story reminds me of another silly old bugger that I know of.

While I was working for my old boss w/my brother inlaw (when I was 13), they were taking down some tree in the back corner of the yard where the neighbours house was hard up against the fence.

The old bloke was out there on the roof with his pool cleaner scoop the (20ft pole) trying "support" (they were tied) the branches away from his roof as they were being cut. My boss told him to piss off inside and we'll handle it. Dropped out his badge (He was a copper) to the old cracker and the guy went in and we got no more trouble from him.

look at all the useless space it takes up by doing that. plus its much more specific when you select the exact text your refering to. it helps the reader desipher exactly what portion your remarks refer to instead of them having to guess.

Shea, as much as I hate to agree with newguy bugging you about the quote thing... you *can* delete whatever you don't want from inside the "quotes" tags so that it only quotes whatcha want... gives ya your specificity.

On a job yesterday the tree hugger neighbour (no fences yet) let her chooks out to roam our workplace then buggered off inside and wouldn't answer the door.

Did it just to piss us off, and the chooks were the sociable type regardless of chainsaws hanging around our tree felling area.

There was a cute little baby one so we looked after them, we killed them prior to boiling. Just kidding.

Done that to a load of rotten partridges someone had hung up in the trees on a site we was clearing. Big mistake, the smell was unbearable we was nearly packing up and 10 mins later one of the lads i was working with put more through. He must of had a cold or likes the smell of decomposing flesh!

Ahhh the rich, I was trimming a tree away from a lamp post in Darling Point (just as snooty as Point Piper) when i got a tap on the back from a brolly wielding old tart. She wanted it left because "they didn't need any more light they already had plenty" then with the next breath asked if I could top the tall shrubs in the council park to improve her view>
She didn't appreciate the excessive quote (about the same amount that the extra view was worth).
I've also had blokes sprayed with a hose in a cherry picker bucket whilst adjacent to powerlines.

Standard response is now " listen lady/mate I didn't choose to have the tree cut down, I'm just real good at doing it

And also I have become a deft shot from heights with sawdust balls, funny stuff.......With all that money and still don't realize shyte hurts a lot more when it comes down from above

Cheers Brad

Tree fracas: magistrate throws out assault charges against Sahade - National
Quote:

Tree fracas: magistrate throws out assault charges against Sahade

Paul Bibby
May 29, 2008
Other related coverage

ASSAULT charges against the millionaire car wash king Anthony Sahade were dismissed yesterday after a magistrate found that a key witness had given contradictory evidence.

In Sydney's Central Local Court, the magistrate, John McIntosh, found George Palmer had given differing accounts in the witness box.

Mr Sahade was accused of assaulting Mr Palmer, an arborist, who was trying to chop down a tree on a property neighbouring Mr Sahade's in Wolseley Road, Point Piper, last year.

The court heard that Mr Sahade threatened to break Mr Palmer's neck and threw handfuls of rocks at him while Mr Palmer was hanging from the tree.

The magistrate dismissed the charge, saying there was reasonable doubt that the stones had struck Mr Palmer or that he had felt threatened by Mr Sahade.

A second charge, that Mr Sahade had assaulted Mr Palmer's part-time assistant, Andrew Bouchier, by grabbing him at the base of the throat and pushing him repeatedly, was also thrown out.

The magistrate found that Mr Bouchier had given evidence that he was grabbed on the upper chest and not around the throat.

A defence application claiming that the prosecution's case had not been made out was accepted by the magistrate.

Mr Sahade and his team of three lawyers refused to comment to waiting media.

Earlier, a mobile-phone video of part of the incident that was played in court showed Mr Sahade standing on a platform outside his $11.25 million home, throwing handfuls of small rocks from his garden.

The video showed Mr Sahade screaming at Mr Palmer to "get down from the f---ing" tree and warning him: "you keep doing that and you see where the next one is going to land". The video also showed an altercation between Mr Sahade and Mr Bouchier beside Mr Bouchier's vehicle.

Mr McIntosh expressed concern about Mr Palmer's evidence on the final day of the trial, indicating that it had "at times appeared contradictory".

After the hearing Mr Palmer said he was extremely disappointed by the magistrate's decision.

"The fact that I didn't feel threatened shouldn't make any difference," he said.

On questions over the consistency of his evidence, Mr Palmer said that he had been under cross examination by the defence for five hours.
