Default Another Blown over tree failure for insurance

Well, not really a blow over as much as failed trunk just above ground level.

Now this is going to be an insurance claim. The insurance company told the client that I only need to quote to remove what is his side of the fence. I just cut it off on the fence-line and leave the rest in the back neighbours ... it's their problem and their claim on their own insurance.

This shot is of the stump, that's a little ole outdoor dunny or something there on the left and the side neighbours storage slab for junk on the right.

This is a close up of the fallen piece, note the termite honeycombing.

This is the underneath of the fallen section, note the borer holes, lifted and dead bark and the discoloured wood beneath.

And this is the root that was severed when the neighbour poured his slab, note that it was the entry path for decay and termites. The tree is a Queensland Umbrella Tree Schefflera_actinophylla said to have invasive root systems. It's interesting to note that the severed roots did not regrow or epicormic ... they decayed and termites feasted (or vice versa)

The people on the other side of the fence I call victims, note the treatment they get.

There's something seriously flawed with this approach and it encourages irresponsible tree management.

It says "ignore your trees and claim it on insurance". And for the victims it says in large letters "bad luck for you".

You wonder why there's no progression in the way people think of trees here. You have councils butchering and calling ratepayers azzholes and private home-owners waiting for failures so insurance companies can pay out, and victims shafted.

I put it all in one large basket called irresponsible tree management.
