We insist on planting more trees.I received a question from one young person like this---trees utilises CARBON-DI-OXIDE for photosynthesis in the morning and excrets oxygen in air which is useful to us but during night time they dont do photosynthesis and rather emit CARBON-DI-OXIDE to atmosphere, then this is harmful to us if we plant more trees---I am unable to answer.Provide me suitable answer . Thanks |

The answer is simple. They put out more O2 than CO2. They also can convert CO2 into stored C They do not store CO2 but C

From that content farm link:- Quote:
I have attached a 2008 PDF about it tested and busted. Back when I did my Level 3 in 2004 we were told it was a myth, 200' of trees drops sound by 10db and if you were 200' away without trees it drops about the same. Noise Products - Environment - FHWA Quote:

I was referencing from a university document, if it's inaccurate good to pull it up and dispute.I agree it's best to reference reliable sources. Interesting that the information is in part incorrect, but the overall article I felt was good as a source for explanation that was pertinent to what was asked by favajal45. I'm fine with any errors put through the dry cleaners. Come to think of it you have made me remember an article I read some time ago. I do not think About.com is a university or university site or scientific. I am discussing vegetation as noise barriers here. Sites like that and say Ehow and even Wikipedia must be treated carefully, articles written by people who write articles by skimming the net for information. The article then draws traffic to a page loaded with ads which they hope generates revenue.
