Default Windthrown Tree Falls on House

Hi All,
These photos are are of a tree that failed in our recent storms that hit Sydney, tuesday week ago. I do not know what type of tree it is as I took these photos on the run so to speak.

This tree was co-dominant which split at the union, one side of tree hit and bounced off the tree beside it, you can see the impact mark on the other tree still standing, if the other tree was not standing where it was it would have been one each way...one on the house and one on the garage.

I was informed the SES was on the roof with a view to cutting it up, look at the size of this tree...crane job for sure.

This was one of many trees that failed in that last storm, however this is the only photos I have as I was holidays when the storm struck, so these pictures were already a week old when I took them.

Nasty, included co-dominant stems to ground.

Just imagine, a few bolts and a bit of cable and it wouldn't have happened.

Well I happened to working in this area and luckily for you [me] it happened to be the day the tree was removed off the house, so here's some more photos of the damage to the house and the tree being lifted by a crane...

Above the climber is signalling to the crane driver to boom it over.

Below the crane is lifting the cut branch off the house, you can see it behind the trees if you look carefully.

Below if you look to the left hand gable you can see the damage the tree done to the house

And last but not least the front view of the impact zone.
