| This is a pretty sad story, sort of says a lot about us as a species (well to me at least) I've passed it on to a few Arb friends so thought I'd share it here too. Read through the article in the attachment even though it is a little disjointed, Tree of T?n?r?.doc then look at the photos on the French website that sort of track the events in a more logical time line. The last group of shots are of an Italian adventure trekking group that came accross the fallen monument in early 2006 and decided to re-erect it...its a pretty pathetic monument to such a defiant lttle tree eh? http://www.agadez-niger.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=627 It really did make me sad the first time I read it a few years back, especially since in the mid 80's I was not far from the tree (but didn't know it) wish I'd gone through the Agadez desert now.
