Thought that id make this fun thread for any of you who have some pictures of wierd and wonderful tree insects from your home countries, heres my entry. Huhu grubs.... Shows all three instars... adult flying borer on the left to grub in the right. A common Maori delicacy, taste like Peanut butter apparently ![]() scentific name: Prionoplus reticularisFound them in a rotten Pinus radiata log, around about 20 grubs and 3 or 4 pupae and adults.... ![]() Last edited by Jeff Darby; 6th November 2008 at 04:14 PM. ok ill play along the cecada these arnt my pics ...because iv never had the desire to take pics of this ugly thing but we have tons of them in the area and they make a really loud screaching noise that can be heard for 100s of feet and they are huge... for canadian standards anyway, they are about the length of your finger funny side story, we had a grounds man that was terrified of them, kept the day interesting for us adult ![]() ![]() Secada on ?????? - Photo Sharing!
