Heres a council listed Significant Tree we did some pruning on. Just a bit of deadwooding on the Sequoia sempivirens. Also did some clearance/crownlifting on an Auracaria, deadwooding on a Liquidambar and lateral reduction on a Pinoak.

I've tried converting mobile phone footage to a format i can load here, gives a better perspective of size, even though shes only a baby for one of these!

No exciting action here, just a look at the tree really.

Lets see if this works....

That was his driveway in the front yard. Yeah i spose an ewp could have got to it but with only a handful of these in Melbourne we all wanted to climb it!

He went right up and stuck out the top of the canopy for fun We only really worked in the lower 1/2.

Nice work Trev, but no work pics? Hey, can I ask you... How come the SES didn't come clean that up? They take ALL of our sweet pie candy storm jobs up here and we get left with the bloody hauling and chipping (Not that we accept those jobs anyway )

I've got some progress shots, will post soon, got some resizing to do and gather up pics from 4 different old PC's and sort them all out onto my new Mac.

Then i'll get more & more stuff up here.

SES did a lot of the smaller stuff but they walk from these.

We've done about 7 days now of just damage work, mostly for insurance, some private, probably about 4 more days worth that i know of to come.

And a growing pile of regular work backing up.

Its all good

Been collecting some data on failures i've seen too

So Total Tree Care aint all about big removals and prunes, here's where the "care" side of things come into play aswell.

Most Silver Birches here in Melbourne are declining or dead due to years of drought.

Water restrictions prevent people from watering lawns, which means trees with root zones under grass get next to no water.

Solution:

Here we extended out the garden bed area by carefully hand digging the grass off the surface, add composts & soil improvements, then mulch with aged chunky woodchip mulch.

If more people could be encouraged to have mulch under their trees instead of half dead grass there'd be a lot of happier trees out there!

LOL, and on that Yankee forum they're arguing about mulch vs grass, but they also argue about leaving stubs and painting wounds.

Good job Trev, remind the customer to add wetting agents regularly along with some Seasol.
