Default Storm damaged oak, and big Chestnut fell

Here's some pics of some work i done a few weeks back. ended up giving me a bit of a scare, the big branch you see fell in my close area (had to check my pants kinda thing) as i was piecing it down hence the tear you can see.

Looks like the base of that is bigger than the chipper, did you firewood most of it?

Looks like pretty darn big paddock to fell it, why muck around piecing? Looks sort of felled??

yeah no clean up, the owners fire wood it.
ekka, the weight was all in weird places, kinda hart to see in the pic, but, it was holding (or as i thought) at the 1 failure point, and 2 limbs were resting on the lower limb. i thought at the time it warranted chogging down. after talking to more experienced guys, i would approach it a bit differently.

in situation like that i would have stripped out the front side, set a rope on it, pretensioned and flop it over. looks like a big one. good job man.
