Asplundh are in Aus and NZ. As far as I know they are only doing line clearance, no residential work.

Yeah, a mate of mine in my class works for asplundh. They've got the warragamba dam contract... TreeScapes is a very classy and reputable tree firm here in Sydney. Two of my teachers work for them, and my head climbing teacher used to run it.

Have they seen the shed smashing video interview with Kylie, real professional stuff up here mate! If it wasn't for that video they probably wouldn't have coughed up the $2k damages they did months later. Maybe they just send the crap to Queensland? Who knows.

hey guys, Treescapes the biggest tree company by far, alot of contracts, land clearance, council stuff and general mayhem, alot of bushmen so some are prity ruff, alot of good climbers tho so not all bad, As for Asplundh..... Well... They do mostly line clearance, council work but ive noticed they have a big bandit and a excavator for land clearance now.. dont have a good reputation... they destroyed nz's tree surgery market in 95 when the big US corporate dickheads came in with US money and undercut the other the guys with a REDICULOUS hourly rate, the industry stil hasnt recovered fully and there still not getting what the industrys worth.... so not a favourate especially for me. |

having known project and area managers in both outfits have to say its a business 1st- they are driven by money. They also give back to the industry here in nz at a national level sponsering large events within the industry, climbing comps, conference, etc. but thats the big two here in nz. they have great structure and they know how to get things done. however-- staff really are a tool to these guys, you have to realise this if you are to work for them, but theres alot of very good arborists, and some bloody good blokes as well-just like any other company i guess of their size. You just got to do the best you can do offer something more. big may be good but small is nimble and smart. |

A lot of the big take downs I leave into the second day either look like a giant penis (clients have stated this) or sometimes look like a one finger salute because of high tie in point and if the number of digits match up. Burying a lot of brush with heavy wood is not wise sometimes if groundy cannot keep up. | |

| I always hate thinking about the second day (the night after the first day) of a real technical rigging climbing removal that is tough enough but it is in the winter, 20 degrees out and forecast for windy. Just thoughts that make for stress. Like even in late summer or so, if I see a picture anywhere of snow coming down or on ground, I think of the worst winter, and they can be tough sometimes.
