Well no doubt you can tell they were Cupressus Macrocarpa in very poor condition. Felled 54 of them for a village trust. Very tight fork unions some had failed some just about to fail. Great job last February cold but very dry from start to finish. Some of them where leaning back towards property,s. They had been reduced about 20 years previously and poorly done (topped basically) not much regrowth, lots of dead spurs ect. As you can see with some of them they split on felling. Sorry about some of them back cut,s but every tree had a 3/4 inch bar upto about 1 meter and allso had a scaffold tube in all of them most of which the trunks had grown round. One of which was about 3 meters up inside the trunk. What a sod grinding them stumps out. The old cast iron fence was allso close and not to be damaged. But really enjoyed the job. The 2 pics of the tree with the hole in the trunk where of a Sorbus Aria. The pics of the felled Fraxinus Excelsior and Acer Pseudoplatanus were on a steep bank and had been sold for development so just a site clearance job. Hope this explains things a bit better but by the time i had found out how to upload the photos i,d had enough.

Hey Erik, Lombardy Poplars are in the back ground do not know who did them (NOT ME) That was the standard of work that was accepted by the Trust untill they did something about it. Those pops i presume were topped about 15 years or so ago. Whom ever did those had done that to those Macrocarpas to (to the left in pic). Around the land area that the trust is resposible for there must be aprox another 100 different trees like that. I know pepole see me (us) working there now and may wonder if i, we did them if asked i,d have to say no way. Had to fell the 2nd one in the end of the row on the left as it had died (prob as a result of topping i,d say) you could lean on it and push and it would shake pretty scary. When it hit the deck it shattered into loads of bits. I think they will become a threat and a danger in the future and i will probably have to fell them too. Where the Macrocapa,s were the trust have replanted lots of new tree,s do not no what though not been close enough yet always to busy.

Oh climb safe out there.
