| Lol, Bill. You are free to climb it how ever you want, but if it's a live tree and it is going to be a live tree if and after you climb it with spikes, don't go talking about all the good tree work you do or the bad that others do. On the other hand, if it's coming down, by all means spike it ![]() You know 30 years of XP, doesn't mean he knows best.

| Yeah I agree, the climb is great with them. Only thing with the kevlar that concerns me, is, are they going last me atleast a minimum of a month? Going from $2 a pair to $18 a pair takes away alot of the nice consumable part of the gloves.

Do yuo think the same about palms shea? Those are considered trees too but as i said before i spike palms without exception.I'm willing to listen to someone whose been in this industry longer than you've been alive and imo theres no shame in learning.

Bill, you realise that the big redwoods took hundreds to thousands of years to get to that size, where if you plant a palm in the tropics, fertilise it every year and keep it REALLY well watered, you could have a really decent size palm in about 20 years, if not sooner.

yeah i know John,i just think its comical that shea is giving me hell about something i'm not even sure will happen yet when he climbs trees with gaffs all the time[as far as i know].Wheres the difference there shea?you said you trim trees with gaffs for work.I've done trimming around lines without gaffs.

... or strap your ass in a Bigshot... I thought Shea saw the light a few months ago and stopped spiking trees to prune them... Nice setup there, VL... Got a question about that polesaw though... We've got all polesaws from silky and I find that the hayauchi bends a lot when being used at the largest lenght. The hayate on the other hand is heavier but it doesn't bend like the hayauchi. On the other hand... Where is your sink, mate? |

I just ordered a Barnel, have you tried one. The Hayate was a bit expensive here. I asked on another thread about them and decided on the Barnel not the Hayauchi, I'll test it on monday. |

I don't find the bending much of a problem, not for the reach i get. I've read good reviews on the hayate also, but until my hayauchi breaks, it's far better than anything else i can afford. The Barnel has a better price than the silky. That's all I've ever heard about it. Let us know how it performs. LOL If i thought a sink would make my job safer, or easyer, I'd have one on my truck. |
