Flying Fox Myths

Some people think flying foxes are dirty, smelly, noisy animals. They are certainly smelly and noisy when they roost in large numbers, but not everyone finds the smell unpleasant. A flying fox camp usually smells like fermenting fruit. Most people believe the animals are dirty because of two long-standing myths:

…Firstly, people believe flying foxes do not have an anus, and so they poop from their mouth or vomit all of their food!

…Secondly, people believe flying foxes do have an anus but that they poop all over themselves while hanging upside down!

Flying Foxes hang from their thumbs, inverting from their usual orientation to defecate. Both of these myths are untrue. Flying foxes hang by their thumbs to poop, so that their bottom points to the ground. They also poop while they are flying at night, which is good for seed dispersal. Both pooping and vomiting are common misunderstandings of just what flying fox spats are.

Lets hope this old (young) Dracaena draco can be saved, For Australia it is a large specimen, This plant was once the favorite food of the now extinct Dodo Bird.
If it can not be saved it will be a shame! I remember walking past it last year. It's called a Dragon's Blood tree, common name, because of it's red sap.We know some lads that work at RBG we will find out more soon

It'll live, well parts will.

Aren't those the types you can cut a piece with an angle, shove in the ground and they grow? I'm sure they are. As long as it's not rotten should be able to guy it upright and get something happening, if not, time to try the strike big cuttings tree. Just my 0.02 as a shiny ass.

Your Title grow's..LOL.Yes they will grow from stem cuttings ( cut just below the node) placed in a well drained sandy mix.
Time holds the answer for this grand old gal.
