Default pomme 1st picture post

here is a london plane tree following crown reduction. this is the 2nd time i have reduced this tree in 6 years.

Any chance of some closer ups of the cuts etc?

Had that tree been pollarded in the past (before you reduced 6 yrs ago) It looks like the branches don't taper and stop abruptly. I don't normally like reductions (unless absolutely necessary) but you made it look well shaped.

I agree with Mike looks like a lapsed pollard, hard and tricky to prune esp hard to reduce with any confidence of success.

Well, seems to be green around the entire crown so throws me a bit if it's just been cut must be something there they cut back to. If it were a flat out top job there's be nothing right?

Sure wont blow over in the wind though.

yes it has previously been pollarded unfortunatly too many of londons trees have been treated like this. if memory serves it had been reduced before also. i can t seem to find many of my pictures to post just came across this one and thought i d put it out there. if you saw some of what is classed as professional work over here you d turn inside out, i might take my camera out and get some horror pic s for you all to see

Hey, I need pictures of proper pollards, see if you can get them, close ups of heads done properly.
