Default Palm Week, Hawkesbury Uni

For Eric and other palm afficionados!
Spent the last week at Uni of Western Sydney, Hawkesbury Campus, Richmond, west of Sydney. This was previously Hawkesbury Agricultural College.
The job was pruning 280+ palms of various species, Cabbage Palms, Cotton, Phoenix, Cocos and Bottle? palms.
If you're into palms, this was the place to be.
Some beautiful old buildings dating from 1856.
Steve

Well, thank goodness you could get a tower to them.

I'd rather be in the bucket than cleaning up that crap, they really should start planting some trees and slowly switch over from telegraph poles with shit on top.

Great pictures Quintrex, Now thats what a Agricultural college should look like.

In the very first pic, has the operator maxed out the lift and transfered to the tree or what?

TD. No, we used a hired 40' lift as well as my 75', and I took all the pics from my 75 footer. About 20 or so were 80' to 90'. We got them with a pole saw from the bucket.

Eric. There are a lot of magnificent trees on site also. Huge Bunya Pines, Tassie Blue Gums, Chinese Elms and Camphor Laurels as well as remnant Grey Box and many more recent plantings of Tallowood and Mugga Ironbark. I focused on the Palm as this was our job at this time and I appreciate your passion for them!
Steve
