That particular palm, I felt that there just wasn't enough room to fell it from the ground. As it was the fronds on that head were as far as about 1.5metres out from the fence aswell as his shrubs down the back. So we took it in two sections for probably about an extra 5-10 minutes work....
The rest of the palms we felled in one hit.

Default WTF? A - One Tree's Pruning?!?!?!

Here is a few pictures from last year of a Peppercorn Tree (Schinus aerie) prune.
As you can see in the first picture below, this client of ours is a real garden fanatic. The limb I'm on was shading where she likes to grow her annuals, so we cut it back to its collar.

Anyone could have cut this with a pole saw, but would of squashed her beautiful garden below.

This job was very successful because under and around ALL of her trees, there were plants everywhere. All pieces were dismantled with hand held sections and not one bit of damage was done to her garden.

Out on the limb.

One handing, note where my other hand is.

Two hands :P

Managed to whack a cocos palm while I was there, aswell as that Cudamunda Wattle tree next to it

And last but not least the access. Stump grinder probably had 0.5cm on each side at the gate.

All pictures were resized using: The Picture Girdler 2

Hey hey, gotta revive this thread...

I thought with the latest craze being dead tree removals I'd post up some pics of our MASSIVE(jks) (10-12m) dead tree removal we did a few weeks back.

Dead n leaning radiata pine, tied in my highline to its alive brother radiata pine... I used a Martin Hitch w/pulley for the added manouverability/efficiency of one handing my hitch...

The dead tree

Going up

Highline in brother radiata pine

Topped the tree with a hand held section

Tops ahoy! In this pic you can see I'm higher then my highline... Although it didn't take much of my weight, it definately helped me balance on that awkward side lean (the lean being in the direction of the photos were taken)

Blocking down

Ugghhh! Dead Pine! Got any photos of the scratches on your forearms LOL.
Anchor from the other tree was a good idea, dead pine can be soft as a sponge.

Lol, the thing with my highline... I made the legs on the Martin Hitch WAY too short and on the descent it was a bitch cuz I literally had to inch it down.... No free sliding

Default Warning 56kers, not for slow download SPEEDS!

These posts are so few and few inbetween so I thought I'd russle up a real BIG one. I've compiled all job photos into their own single animating file. Oh and for the copy catters(Just so you know, these people arn't active members), feel free to copy my pics

NOTE: The pictures in the pics below go in chronilogical order.

This was a fence line prune we did on this Cedar. It had grown over from the neighbours half a backyard (Villa house). The roots are pushing it up from the bottom, the trunk is crushing it from the top, the leaves and berries are continually smooshing and filling his gutters and his neighbour wouldn't cooperate on the removal of their destructive "vigourous"(to be politically correct) tree so we pruned it back to collars and nodes. Some of these photos also portray the home made 4m polesaw I made up for $60.00. The highpoint wasn't very high so I got the small tips with this beauty.

This is a Peppercorn we pruned and gave a light thinning to improve the sunlight to the ladies clothesline. We removed one big limb, two old ones at the bottom that were pretruding that hadn't been cut to a node.

This was the job we did today, we removed this Tallow Wood from the front and the Black Butt from the back. Pretty simple really, alot of room to just cut, the last few bits we had to tie. Just below you'll find a sequence shot Suzie took as some leaders got topped out.

Topped that out, grew out like that cuz of neighbours trees shading it.

Topped one leader where I had the room, again Suzie took the shot.

Hoped yas' liked them.

P.S I'm currently not living at home, so any responses from myself will be delayed.
