| Here's some shots of a council d/w for h&s I did with my boss Steve about a year ago maybe more, why two of us in such a small tree, well to make a good impression on the supervisor and tree crew below watching us work I think. Though for those in the know you can see in my face we're just a little too close. FYI Steve is the guy pointing and looking like he's thinking about the next job I'm the guy with his arse hanging out dragging the pole saw through the tree sweating away cutting d/w Just kidding I love that work really do but you can see in the shot of me walking out of the drop zone thinking next time I'll let him show off all by himself DSCF4326i.JPG DSCF4320i.JPG DSCF4329i.JPG DSCF4332i.JPG DSCF4342i.JPG DSCF4346i.JPG SF ![]() |

| Nice pics ... maybe a bit larger next time. Was that a Moreton Bay Ash, Corymbia tessellaris? I thought you boys would fly a bucket round that and be done in 30mins. So what prompted the dead wood callout?

| Yeah sorry bout the size still getting off the training wheels with all this web posting photos Eucalyptus(corymbia) tessellaris no go with EWP right near the beach on dune sand against a dry creek way way too soft. Property owner to the left of the tree as we look veg patch under the canopy large d/w dropping into yard, council wanted removal we told them crazy just give us the money saved and we'll invest it .The job then became a bit of a demo as to what we could offer them in tricky situs where they couldn't or wouldn't go...thereby the two of us up in a tiny crown Pretty healthy happy looking tree, bet she's cranking now after the last 7days We used to hardly ever use EWP for the first 2yrs I worked for Steve, we use them more now but still love to climb...too much according to my lovely lady. | EWP's are handy for thinning and dead wooding as you can work on the tips. In some cases I have even taken secateurs and thinned the foliage on tips. I think they're great trees those, love the mottled bark down low. They have a fine leaf and tend to let more light in than say a Corymbia torelliana (cadaghi bla!) and seldom do I see them busted up by storms compared to say a grey gum or blue gum. Sure would have been wrong to rip that one out. Good size for pics is 700px wide and maybe 500px high.

| Excellent shots Boa. I got called by a lady yesterday wanting a report on the neighbours tree. Although I don't do that sort of thing, I'd said I'd take a look for her piece of mind. When I got there, I found out the Blue Gum had been Topped a year and a half ago by the then owner. He'd reduced it by, I'd say, 20 feet or so. God it was horrible. He was told by his neighbour (a Horticulturist), to get a surgeon in. Too much money he say's "I'll do it myself". You get the picture I'm sure..Now it resembles a lions tale. What a mess... They have my number..

| We use the orange safety mesh to isolate work areas when we can, all depends o the circumstances of the job site. Gotta tell you makes no difference public just step over it! Reckon you'dhave to put up razor wire with an electrified top wire to stop them and even then.... We just try to isolate the drop zone as best we can, that particular job was more of a demo of what we could do for one of the Councils so we went a bit over board, normally in such an isolate location with very little chance of people wandering in we would have put out cones and relied on the groundie to kepp the area clear. Never cut without clear call from below.SF |

| We laid out the witches hats for the chipper, we were a little scarce so they were apart a bit but pretty obvious what was going on with all the crap piled up and a row of witches hats. Along comes a woman in a small bubble car and slips in ... like WTF, lady, soon a large truck will be here with a machine to chip all this up .. please move. She did but mate, the public see gaps like the ones who lift up the barrier tape and walk straight thru ya jobsite. razor wire would slow them down. ![]()

| Doing some work over a footpath once and had a mum pushing a pram with baby in it come along. Without even lookin up, around or anywhere but straight ahead she pushed the cones aside and wheeled her way on thru! Might upspec to the razor wire i think! Trev |

| Yeah, those witches hats are only for cars. When I did that helcam take down recently and old codger decides to get a birds eye view and hid under a tree adjacent to our drop zone ... the ground guys moved him along! You get them, what about the ones who come right up and tap ya on the shoulder ... "gizza a quote on that tree there mate will ya" whilst your grinding a stump! The busier the city the worse it gets.

| That is a really neat looking tree. I wish we had some trees like that round here. The closest thing we have "looks" wise is our sycamore's. Good pics!!
