| Logging! Saturday's occupation. I am just a hobbylogger, but I try to fell some trees every winter. This winter we have had so much snow that tractor driving has been impossible. But I have to do a small job with dried spruce before the snow melts and the fields become muddy. ![]() Leif. |

| Finally spring! After a hard winter, spring is here. All snow isn't gone yet, but the bees are flying and the early spring flowers are in bloom. This one is called blaaveis, Hepatica Nobilis, also called Anemone Hepatica. They are normally blue, but they may also be red, and I have in my wood even some plants with white flowers. That is quite rare. ![]() Mourning Cloak is also an early guest in spring. In summer it's very hard to get close enough for making photos, but in spring the butterfly is still a bit hazy after the winter, and allowed me to get some pics. ![]() Leif. |

Beautifull place you've got there Leif. I love seeing the pictures. Very pretty. Clemmy, that house by the sea reminds me almost exactly of the house in the movie "The Transporter". I think it was the first one. It might not be the same one though, cuz that one mighta been blown up. Very pretty views though of Portugal. Maybe I'll come visit. |

You'rte right Therrin, that house got blewn up in The Transporter. You are very welcome to stay here if you'd like to come and visit, though you would be bored within a day, no crime or excitement within miles! One common visitor of ours Leif here:

| The big grasshoppers here are green, like this one. (Not my picture.) ![]() We have a lot of smaller ones too, with different colours. They are a wonderful bait for fishing trout. Nice pics, Sean. Where is "your place"? Leif. |

I found a video at Youtube. Have a free voyage from Lunde to the town Skien with the ship "Henrik Ibsen"! This boat was built for the canals in Sweden, but was bought some years ago and renamed to Henrik ibsen, our famous author who was born i Skien in 1828. YouTube - The Telemark Canal Leif. |

Long time since last post. Now I have summer holidays. I am going to spend about 3 weeks in our caravan at the coast in South Norway. Main occupation: Fishing. Here is my friend Hans John with a bit of what we caught this morning. Greater weaver (Trachinus draco), Common sole (Solea solea) and European flounder (Platichthys flesus) ![]() ![]() Leif- |

Trachinus draco is toxic, it's supposed to be quite dangerous. But if we cut away the dangerous part, it is a delicious fish. The Danes have smoked Trachinus as a speciality. I ate the fish, and I'am still alive. Wikipedia can tell much better than me about this fish. Greater weever - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia We had fried flounder for breakfast to-day. Delicious. | Yeeess!! Christmas! But who can afford that much tinsel? Well, it was of course a joke. It is a spruce covered with creepers, we call it wild wine. I've seen lots of housewalls covered with tis beautiful plants, but never anything like this. Found it just by chance, driving by. Leif. |

I've had a day off, and used the opportunity to work at my farm. Last year I got a big oak from a neighbour. I milled most of it. The rest will be firewood for next year. I like the smell of oak. A bit sour, but fresh. My woodsplitter works both forwards and backwards. It's called "kløver ess", a play on words about cards. "Kløve" means to split and "ess" means ace. Ace of clubs. ![]() Out-door lunch. We Norwegians are supposed to be world champions in eating frozen pizza, at least so I am told. I decided to confirm the statistics to-day. In the glass: Aronia juice. And the green bottle does not contain the German/Danish drink "Jägermeister"! It's recycled for aronia. And the rifle is in case a fox should show up. Well, it didn't come. It does when the rifle isn't there. ![]() And here is the view from my chair. ![]() Leif. |

wow the views are amazing from your patio, of course they wuold look a whole lot better after a few Jägermeisters, the worlds biggest frozen pizza eaters with all the fresh food available you guys eat crappy cardboard pizza .such a pity about the fox they seem to know when you dont have your rifle and wander around in front of you taunting and frustrating you. nice little 22 though what scope have you got on it 10x6?

Hi, Galbee. The rifle is a Zastava "minimauser" cal 223R, the scope is Bushnell 4-9x40. The fox(es) will come some day. When we get snow, I'll sit in a small cabin in the barn waiting for them. We have thrown out a bait, a lot of waste from a slaughterhouse. It already stinks like....? The crows are lucky about it. For some of them that was the last thing they did. ![]() Leif. |

Nice rifle. You could also try something like 1080 bait to get those foxes, that stuff kills anything.

What is 1080?? If it is some sort of poison, it is forbidden here. And it is much more fun to wait for the fox... Leif. |
