It's 2008, and hackers are still working hard. My jaw just drops when i see this type of work.

Cool Re: Local talent

I gave a bid on this tree too. Clean out the dead&damaged, and thin. I guess the hacker was cheaper.

Funny how you can find instances in almost any industry where things like this happen.

Deciding what needs thinning = Decision making
Decision making = Education
Education = time & money

Hacking everything down and getting the hell out of there = No time invested
No time invested = No decisions needed
No decisions = No Education
No Education = No money = He can work cheaper than you and move on to the next bid to try and undercut what you quote telling the HO that his way is better and they don't need to worry about it.

Ultimately the HO can blame the Industry "I got my tree trimmed and now it's dead". Not the fact that they cheaped out and went with the hack.

Other industrys:
"I took my car to the shop and now the transmission isn't working" the "shop" they used was the cheper one, who happened to install a rebuilt part which didn't last.

In television I hear this kind of stuff all the time "Man I don't like the crews in #name of city here#". When the producers hired green techs who didn't have the experience and were cheaper.

Ultimately the old addage, You get what you pay for...., is what applies.

Sorry to rant,

It's world wide pandemic,All for the sake in most cases $50....I know this not going to sound professional...Sucko To the Owners, They definately got what they paid for!

To The Home owners, Check the credentials of any one working on your property,
Are they Qualified,Certified?
Are they Insured,?
Can they produce referances from satisfied customers with contact numbers?

In Australia the minimum Qualification is Cert 2 in Arboriculture.

The men and womem that hold this qualification have a sound foundations to carry on with their studies to Diploma level,The teachers that teach Arboriculture do not pass these student unless they are competant. This is the minimum Qualification to look for.

When you the home owner look for these things, You will not end up with a butchered tree in your front yard.

Think about it, It's just like having your front teeth missing You cant hide it!

We don't have qualifing levels like that here in the USA, should though. I'm an isa certified arborist. At what level would that be in Australia? I've also got years of hard knocks.

Hey I like the way you broke that down, Strictly Palms. I may work that into some kind of marketing later on down the track, I will keep you posted...

ISA cert arb and a L2 arb here are sort of very different to compare.

That's due to L2 focusing on practical skills, a lot.

In some ways the ISA cert has things the L2 doesn't ... like cabling, but they dont do climbing, rigging etc.

Just very different.

But I think no matter what level from where that sort of work just stinks, there's lots of people around who wont listen either and it hurts that you wasted your time on an IDIOT CUSTOMER.
