Mushi got some better photos but I guess we have to wait for him. mishi are you there mate, mishi

Nice, but if you'd resize them larger, say at least 800x600, or 120-300 kb, they'd look a lot better. Question, is that a conifer? or just a NZ tree ya'll call pine? A shooting tip, if I may. Use spot metering, and maybe manual mode. Set the exposure by aiming the center focus point at the subject, or nearby at a dark area of the scene. This will help you to obtain a better exposure, when shooting into a shaded tree canopy with a bright background. Also, download the excellent, free photo organizer/editor, picasa......With it, you can alter the exposure and do many other simple post processing tasks. My friend Andy lives here in the US, but is a Kiwi...I told him about this thread some time ago....i just now spotted your reply. I think he said pinus genus pines exist in NZ.... he has a nothofagus (I've only seen a couple others)....and told me how the forest duff under them can be meters thick!! Thanks for posting the botanical name! Awesome trees! as I see here: Dacrycarpus dacrydioides description and, wouldn't ya know it, our local big tree guy Robert Van Pelt is mentioned in the sotry of the tallest, at 55 meters.... The foliage pics make the tree look closer to a cedar or cypress than pine? | |
