Im thinkin of gettin some drywall stilts(just gotta watch the pot holes)......also picking up another ladder and doin it that way(with a plank or scaffolding plank...also im workin on aquiring some skinny roll-able scaffolding gonna attempt to retro fit with off-road style tires.(like a dolly set up)

I advertise for that kind of stuff because the debris is usually minor and the pay is well...and i'm good at sculpting like Disney World...

After all the years of climbing the Grandaddy trees i just sub it out,if its more that 1 heavy load or more difficult to deal with i network it.I have several excellent companies in my vendor list and it repays me with them tossin me the smaller stuff...I call it my niche.

Sounds like a good arrangement 12ed, wish i had someone to palm that stuff off to! I just try to price em well enough to make em worthwhile. Might be small & easy but they still take time & time is $$$ when youve got Arborists on the clock and an 18" chipper sitting out front while hedgetrimming!

Trev, they got some specialist hedge trimming co. down your way, was featured in the Aussie Arborage a while back. They do those huge hedges, pine type of stuff in the posh house of the Victorians.

When I was on the Gold Coast I used to do a few resorts. Some had those large topiaried ficus and you'd be up and down a ladder all the time to get them round ... people who weren't so good at it would make them egg shaped as they grow more on top.

Trick was holding up something round, like a 20cent piece stuck to a stick and eying in on what had to be cut.

Default New Stuff :)

sorry guys plate got full....

Heres What we call a California Jewel i did today......?(no search yet)

Looks like the same palm ekka posted in a earlier post?
Boots (petiole) grow seperated vs a canary which leaves a more plaid like design when finished?
Also wonderin if "Jewel" need magnesium or are just a little "unhealthier"lookin?

Also removed a good sized Quaker Parrot nest, no babies

Post 29, that palm there. You are saying that it is not a Pheonix canariensis but another, I did some Googling and notice on the canariensis the butts (petioles) are not stacked on top of each other and are a little more compact.

This link is to a picture and you can clearly see the difference.

Are we sure about this or did you just have a "dud"?

Worth finding out, I'm curious, maybe Boa's got a PDF.

Exactly....
These two are the same tree....

These two trees are the same.......

What i noticed was that behind the "Canary" is meat....

With the boots spread apart the "Jewel" is alot of dirt...

Only Difference i see is size and that One is in Australia and One in south Florida....

Interesting, there's slight variations of queen palms, and when you have been cleaning them a while you notice the subtle differences just as you have with these.

Here's a great link to the many we see, well worth a look.

I didn't have the same luck with the Pheonix's though, maybe they're "duds", I'm still looking though.

Here's a classic....."I started to cut it down but the saw broke"

Here's a Pheonix Reclinata i trimmed a few weeks back.....
