| When posting a picture file, try to keep it within around ~100-200kb and around ~800 pixels wide. Unless your asking us to help you try and diagnose and identify a tree in which case the bigger the better. Now I hear you saying "But how?". Well here is a program that resizes a picture with a simple drag and drop and it will even tell you the size of the file before you save it. Picture Girdle 2 - 68KBS = Tiny ![]() ![]() Quote:

| Hmm if it gives you the option, just click yes. But what do you need this for Phil? We love the size and detail of your pics, I often use them as backgrounds for my desktop. If they're smaller then I wouldn't be able to do that .

| Well, I thought you wanted me to upload directly instead of using Photobucket. Unfortuntely the files are to large for this, and I don't know how to re-size them. However, I'm happy to keep using Photobucket. |

| Ahhhh, I see .Hmm maybe try: Picasa Picasa? It's a great program that will hold ALL of your photos on your computer in one single program with the ability to resize them and make other modifications like lighten your photos aswell.

I use Picasa, however in Picasa (free from google) you must export the pic or save the changes for the changes to actually occur. Many do stuff ot the pic and then load it but it loads as the original because Picasa keeps the original intact and you are viewing your changes. Smart Really. So do your stuff to the pic then export it and then load the export. Good thing about Picasa is the original stays the same behind the scenes. And has a one button "I'm Feeling Lucky" button which 99% of the time makes the pic sweet. I think they got that idea from Clint Eastwood. ![]()

| I just asked Ekka about this in the Mac vs, PC thread, I use flickr as a photo host and it gives me choices as to what size I'd like to see, and if I can see it I can capture a link to it. Here's the Tom Turkey shot at a smaller size (500x341) : ![]() And smaller yet (249x164) : ![]() Of course I do like the high res effect on my photos (1024x698), but will try to restrain myself unless detail is really needed. And what are the procedures for uploading images to the server, do you have an FTP setup for this? Aerial |

| See the 1st turkey, that pic although small is 270kb, way to big. For that size it should be well under 100kb. To upload pics here follow these instructions. How to post| add a picture or file| embed picture I also draw your attention to the rules about image hosting. Tree World - Announcements in Forum : ANNOUNCEMENTS Quote:
