Default Cut tree off roof

Hello everyone,
I am cutting a tree off the roof of a garage. I can block it down to the roof line with no problem. However I am a little stumped from there. I can't use a crane or log truck because I can't get it in. There are no trees behind it to rig lines too. The best I can up with is rigging two lines about 30 degrees from the back lean and slewing it over to the side.

So you cannot fell it forward, away from the shed?

Cant get a long heavy rope on it and pull it forward or something?

I cant really see the whole scene that's all.

Once you get level to the roof you have to stop or every time you cut a piece it will fall into the shed.

Anyway you can put in ground anchors of sorts? Even for a sideways fell you need an anchor, it would be like felling a side leaning tree.

I can see four ways with the limited info....

1. Prop the trunk, remove the shed and lower.
2. Prop the trunk and block it down.
3. Heli loggers.
4. As Eric said get an anchor in the yard, see your neighbour, remove a fence run extra cable to a suitable distant point, what ever it takes .

Good luck

Tony

The picture does suggest there's enough room to winch it over backwards, The suggestions put forward so far are feasible, if you use the ground anchor method make sure of your load calculations...more pictures might help us a little aswell making other suggestions.

I do have to ask though, if you were not sure that you could do the job why? did you take it on..for failure is bound to leave egg on your face?

How big is the tree - DBH and length as pictured pls ?

Is the wood/tree green, ie how heavy by comparison to other trees you work with.?

Thanks for all the replys Got it done today! Blocked it down to the roof line took the middle leader out. Then hinged over the right leader with a tractor pulling then used to tractors at 30 deggee angles. stood it just past upright then hinged it over. Done deal!
