| WTF! ![]() Seriously, I reckon there's got to be planting permits, for both house and tree! If some-one planted the tree there then THEY'RE STRANGE! If some-one planted the house there (tree is existing) then THEY'RE STRANGE too!

i see that crap all the time, trees growing into structures, people tend to build right up against a tree, then wonder why it costs so much for the tree to be removed or pruned.

This reminds me that I been meaning to try to take a photo of a tree down the street from my house. The tree was there when they built the house. It is right next to the garage foundation ( I mean right next to it) They actually cut a piece of the roof overhang ( about 2 ft long) to allow the tree to pass the roof line. I couple of years back we had a good wind storm and it broke a mid size limb and I climbed up and cut it down for the owner.... just for fun. You guys would have a good laugh about how close that tree is to the house. The weir part is that there is not obvious damage to the garage foundation (yet). Eventually the house will be put on the market and the new owner will be some freak afraid of trees falling on his house and they will order it cut down. |

Hi Desi ![]() Its funny the things people do.... I'd have just as much or more concern about a tree with 50%+ root loss falling over as i would the tree damaging the house ![]() I saw a similar one just yesterday. Neighbours tree, large poplar on the boundary, new almost finished multi million $ building nextdoor 1m from boundary. With overhang of the eaves and gutters (just installed) there is about 40cm gap to bring down 2 large 50cm diameter leaders through ![]() What would have been $400 before they built was now quoted at $2500. |

You see this scenario as you get about taking care of your buiseness, Theres one on the left hand side of the great western hwy going west just before St Clair a brand new home built next to a large E.sideroxylon dead as they come, This tree stood in a paddock by it's self before they built a home under it, it would have been so easy to fell be fore they built now I would not touch the job. Next time I pass by I will take some picturs for you all to see. With some of these large tree close up to the house I think they planted them not thinking how big they really get...until it's to late!
