Building a treehouse, need advice.

We are scrapping trailers on the property where we live and are trying to use recycled materials to build a treehouse.

This is our first serious go at a something like this.

We would like to interconnect several areas together with rope bridges, plateaus and a zip line or two.

I think I need to be able to climb with spikes to get the next phase completed. I will need to get about 20' in the air and fasten some areas together.

So far I am fastening too about 40 year old pines.

You need to allow for trunk growth (expansion).

If not .... this is what will happen.

A method is to insert thick packer washers between the timber frame and the trunk.
