Default Aerial Pictures from Climbs

I like snapping a few while I'm aloft. (I'm not talking about limbs ...mine or the tree's)

Here's a recent pic of winter in Fort Washington, Pennsylvania, USA.

Only about 90ft up.

That looks weird to me, sort of gloomy. I'm not used to snow a dead looking trees.

Nice shot though, wonder what that same spot would look like in summer.

Ha! That would be the picture that's on my signature column. What a difference, A? I'm carefully reducing the "canopy" thing I have going on in my yard because erosion is taking its toll. Not much grass can grow in all the shade, so I'm working on that. But many of these are mature trees so I can't go crazy. So this summer, that green shot will look a little more open - but not much.

Yeah, Eric you had me laughin in one of the other threads, talking about how you never split a piece of wood in your life. I'm here in the kitchen, one room away from a wood stove in all-out horizontal combustion, and there's a fan blowing a warm breeze from the stove room to move the heat around. It's about 76* in here, maybe 86* in the den where the stove is. Outside it's down to 15* if you count the wind.

Saving wood from tree work for winter is as big a concern for me as the money. (Of course it's not my full time occupation.) I have been called a wood whore. So it takes a second for me to get my head around "Mr. Brisbane Tree Lopping" never made a winter fire. I would love to experience Down Under for a couple years. I probably would never leave.

I love the change of seasons though.

Gawd, I wouldn't mind a few hours in a fridge now and then either.

Hey, our pool is a nice 80F at the moment, nice to swim in after a day killing trees.

That's why so many have big chippers here, mulch moves fast logs slower, but the milling market seems young .... in saying that rustic chunky outdoor style furniture doesn't really fetch a high enough price compared to the volume of cheap good looking China import stuff. But the cheap stuff is stained pine however one person can pick it up. Always seems a no win, I think the firewood market for you guys works out well.
