Awesome pics... makes that lowering device look a little inadequate for such large timber.

About a year ago we were working around the cnr and spotter this tree down a driveway (Eucalyptus regnans) I went passed it today and got some pictures, since then it has had the head blown out and some large limbs(trees) are still hanging up there, the only target is one car that drives pass to go to work.

That one car could be at risk. Last week a guy on a motorbike was hit by a falling Angophora Costata as he rode past. I believe the rider was taken to hospital and the bike was a write off. Wrong place, wrong time, poor buggar. |

That sure is a beautiful tree ace, thanks for the pics One car certainly doesn't represent a significant target...more risk of being hit by lightning than any branches from that tree I would say.

Competiton, ha! yes there are a lot of competition only in the smaller jobs(under cutting),everbody has a chainsaw or has used a saw around here, the local shire is very big 35km by 30km square most of the area is heavily treed ,but tree permits are now slowing things down.We seem to have more people questing our existence(tree Police) these days, they are all tree experts and they will tell you that .Not long ago i had a house owner come over and said that i should have told the whole street that i was going to fell trees and to exspect a earth quake as i shook this house from 300m away![]() ![]() i just laugh at him thats a original one.Does other tree workers have wankers like his or some funny stories, love to hear some![]() |

Lots of busy-bodies over here, too many stories to pick out just one. Even had a couple of idiot neighbours actually come and stand underneath the tree's in protest on a couple of occasions, held the job up for hours, they just wouldn't budge. What made it so hypocritical though is that one of them actually had a freshly cut stump in his front garden, so it was fine for him to cut down his own trees but wrong for everyone else on the street. Its always best to at least try and be diplomatic to start with though, it's amazing how many of these people (once they've had they're say) ask us to come and give them a quote for their own stuff. Silly feckers! |

Cool pics mate, Im with RC1 we have our fair share of numpties that think they are tree specialists I have even had people coming upto me complaining that i havnt notified the residents of an estate that we were working on and that we should stop what we are doing ive heard it all before. They hate the trees outside their house and when you come to do work on them they moan because 'its such a lovely tree' ![]() |
