Nice, how heavy was this one? Oh, by the way, dont be shy with pics, anywhere between 500px and 800px wide is good.

We run Huskys, two 3120's for the big stuff, 5ft bars with full chisel chain. We used to have 088 but had alot of problems from them leaning out and the piston would score the bore.So far no issues with the 3120's we have 17 Huskys working each day.

RC1 You better build a bigger wall, there is more to come from down under. That was just a crane warm up. |

Ha ha, gottya mate. I'll start by bricking up some of these windows, nothing really to see out there anyway. She'll get used to it....give it time! I'll need a beer before I get started though |

JohN Dee Most of the trees we take down are rotten and diseased (see by the pic's), we have mill some but only the excotics, the rest gets cut up for firewood. |

You can still cut down a decent tree with a 25'' bar, the big saw get heavy after awhile, especially if you are climbing with a big sucker hanging off you. Some of the ropes are just as heavy man.

Only ever used an 088 twice, it was a real heavy, awkward mutha of a thing. The crew i was with had bought it second hand from a stihl dealer, it had seized and the owner never picked it after repair. Apparently if you dont run em at full throttle all the time you'll have trouble with em. Makes em not much use for residential tree workers. No blipping with an 088 Just hammer the mutha! As for everyone else, get the hell out of the way that thing will kill ya! ![]()

Hi Ace,& All Big wood, Great pictures, We run an 084 manual oiler Stihl and it is heavy it gave me shoulder problems for a while (rotator cuff) it literally felt as though your arm fell off your shoulder with a sharp burning come cutting sensation, but nothing stood in the old girls way. It's nice to have Stihls biggest legal saw but I think the 066, MS660 is by far the better allround saw power to weight ratio. Our biggest bar was 28" but it just throw the towel in, I think we got just under 12 mths out of it with rotating it and good maitenance and we worked it hard. Me I prefer Stihl's but I dont think there's much differant between the two and probably comes down to personal preferance?? Keep the pictures coming love seeing some one else do the big wood, Some of the pieces you cut out is bigger than our whole set up..LOL. All The Best JayD ![]() ![]()

Still running an 090 for about 20 years now and it's done heaps. Also had husky 2100's and 3120's and 1 076 stihl. All of them gave good service. |

As mentioned, I've had the 090 for about 20 years. Done a heap of work and never had a rebuild. I can't believe I used to climb with it hang from my harness, couldn't do it now.
