Default Tree felling with a helicopter

Found on the internet. I have seen a lot of tree felling, with crane or hire, but never with a helicopter. First I couldn't believe it, but it's possible.

They teach it in Wintec NZ actually.

Judging by the video those guys needed some learning too, many near misses and a stuck saw.

if have to, they do it here in New zealand if it hard access to the trees and it usually up to the clients to pay for it if it the easyer way rather than cutting it down and draging all the crap out which can take a hell of a lot longer.

They coulda used some better cuts in some situations, actually looked like the saw got caught up for a brief few milli seconds there where the chopper took the piece away.

I've got a mate here in the blue mountains who has used choppers on some occasions. He was telling me some prices, for the one he likes most (can lift more) it's about $3600 AUD an hour. Whole chopper bill is passed onto the client. And of course, after every chopper job he grabs the scenic ride around the area too.
