Oops, Blair forgot but I put it in there.

Great video, fast growing large trees. The ones that were only 25 years old were 80' already.

I dont know about the houses being so close to them, surely they'll damage foundations.

I still wonder about the borer eaten one, something going on with that tree for a nest of borers like that?

I want to go to California just to see those suckers! It seems thought that the urban environment to the trees as steroids would be to us. Sure the growth is there but a few years down the road.....something is bad wrong. Weird anology but similar.

Hi Blair,

Here's another view of that hollow tree with the window in it. The climber on rappel is Greg Liu, from Magalia, California.

Whats a little heartrot, with new rings being added around the outside?

Arboreally yours,

Ox

Can always use another redwood video.

I'll be back in the redwood forest this weekend if the weather is okay. A little rain is fine - just no downpours.

Am planning to camp in Jedediah Smith Redwoods or Harris Beach State Park nearby in Oregon. That will give me two days hiking and photographing in the redwood forest.

Probably go down there Friday. Time for the blue trailer to hit the road again.
