Default Pine Removal

The last picks were topped into the tree because it was too far a reach to get them but heavy. I stayed tied to the craane for the topping cuts.

What the heck sort of pines are they?

When you did those topping cuts what held them up, a lowering rope/block etc or the crane? Couldn't really make out what was going on but the last one looked like it had a rope attached to it when it slewed off.

Would've been good helcam action a few of those.

Nice one.

Those were some confident cuts! First one looked good, smooth andeasy with the load moving nicely away as it found its centre of balance, the second had a bit of a snap to it....they always get the crane operators attention!!

You only had one crane right? So in the last two picks you topped them onto the stem butt tied (nice little ride there!) then disconnected from the crane to sling the load.., I'm quessing the line running off the branches as the last pick pulls away is the tail of the static rigging.

They were White Pines. They were held by a lowering rope and aa man on the gound with a porta wrap. There was also a line for pulling the top. Just one crane. I attatched to the tree after the piece was topped.

I did not have time to set up my helmet cam.It would have been nice.
