Ya think it was a little heavier than he thought? The truck was almost at the fence, BEFORE he started to pull................................

I would like to nominate this crew for the Darwin of the year award!

I can just see them explaining that one to the insurance company!

You know some people just don't understand the concept of space, I'm glad the DIY HO saved the money by NOT hiring an arborist, with insurance.

Did I see him get out of the truck, look at his rig, then move the truck closer?
I bet his wife beat him silly when he got home.

Exactly!!! Not only is the driver whacked but what about all the idiots standing there watching, you can see them move back as he starts to pull it............?

The first time I watched it I thought it had to be fake, nobody could be that stupid, so I watched it again, and again, and I even put headphones on so I could hear the background sounds and chatter etc.
And then I watched it again............ At this point I was laughing so hard and so loud the dog came upstairs to see what all the noise was about!

Hopefully that's his last tree.

cost analysis for felling of 1 palm.

-1 litre of chainsaw fuel = 4 dollars
-half a litre of chain oil = 1 dollar
-sharpening of chain = 2 dollars
-work = 1 hour @ 10 dollars an hour = 10 dollars
-1 totalled utility truck = 20.000 dollars
-gas for revving the ute when pulling on the palm = 2 dollars
-1 kitchen tool for pounding on my ass when I get home = 5 dollars
- fee for being a comedian and give the whole arborist world a good laugh when my stupidity appears on the internet = 10 dollars
-Miscellaneous = 5 dollars

fixed price

= 20.039 dollars

The point where gravity suddenly grabs the tree, and begins its fateful journey to the top of the car - Plan J would be executed. Beer O'Clock.

Everytime i pull with a truck i make sure and recheck to make sure its gonna miss the truck.I usually pull 5'to 10' of slack before i take the belly out of the rope.i've had a couple close calls but never once hit a vehicle.

more like, "Honey, I need a new truck. That old one, well, I was driving... going REALLY slow; and the cab, chassis, and bed all just gave out at the same time!"

Needed a good laugh so I came back to this thread.
I bet that guy crapped his pants the instant the palm crushed his truck.

Q & T My explanation would have been that I found it that way when I came out of the grocerey store, no idea what happened.
