Default new video

G'day All,

I've got another video, basically pre-rig and cut, then craning off to reduce down time.
this is the direct link to the video

and the video page, which includes different formats and such is here.
I've written a bit of a description which I'm using on the forums, but I hope to write a proper one sometime...
Quote:
I've cut together a very short edit of 1 of 3 trees we did last year, on a job in grants picnic ground.
(it was actually four if you include the pre-job tree).

Due to being a very busy tourist area, the job had to be done as quickly as possible, remain open and also have minimal interference with traffic.

The solution was to get to the job well before peak hour traffic, and pre-rig and cut all the major branches from a tower (180').
This meant that when the crane and chipper arrived, the crane only had to setup once, and there was no lost time in cutting branches.
The chipper backed straight up into the lowering section, and branches could be lowered with the crane straight to the chipper.

Since the heads were already cut and statically hanging, there was no need to stop traffic again.

As the larger wood starts to come down, chipper is moved and log truck is loaded with right next to crane.

Everybody was off the job by 3pm, thus missing the end of school peak and the next wave of tourist buses.

The dark start of the video is at about 5am, Graeme had another tree about 100m away that also needed to be done, and since the travel tower was all he needed to do it, he did that before he went and pre-rigged the other three trees.
Regards
Angus

Thanks. appreciate you all taking the time to have a look at it, and give some feedback.

Mark: i'd completely forgotten about the hydro pump on the tower... I had a job to goto about midday so I shot off and missed it. I probably would've caught you tomorrow had the tower not canceled, but I guess it'll be friday?
Graeme mention your trucks were parking here sometime this week, so I assume that means you beat me to him.

Apparently one of your guys has a video of the 9 ton single rider on the back of Spuds truck from the job Graeme did at Burnem Beeches the other day, I'd love to see it. When I saw the log, I just laughed.
We finished that job today

See you soon I'm guessing
Regards
Gus

what a crackup. I thought they were joking when they said the truck had stability issues.
Glad someone had a camera on the job. It would appear unless me or someone from Ace is on Graeme's jobs NOTHING ever gets photographed or filmed.

There definitely was laughter.
I'd really appreciate getting that stuff from you. One day when we've both got some time, I love to grab some other job footage of us from you.
Its self indulgent, but honest.
So long as Graeme is organizing good memories of the jobs gone by, there's no hope
