nice work allmark!
is that a loadcell you have on the hook? do you use it for preloading or just "learning" the weights as it would be hard to see when cutting.
thnaks for the vid.

That's great, big bugger of a log on that one for sure.

That machine makes life great for you now. What do you do with that big azzed log? Mill it??

Thanks for that, really liked the soundtrack to, ole Brooks and Dunn.

Oh, I see you have a dynamometer hooked up on the boom, do you get a read out on your R/C console? Like, how do you get to read the weight?

It is a dynamometer. There is no remote read out so I have to lower it to where I can read it after the cut. It helps to see what I am actually taking and how much pressure I put on it before the cut. Right now it is just for my learning and consistancey.

Truly amazing, I can see a time when this becomes standard equipment, in the industry, got to get me a friendly bank manager, is it true you can put a bucket on the end of it ?

Yeah, they put a basket on the end if ya like ... similar to the ones we have on the end of cranes.

They were called man baskets but now with political correctness they could be called person buckets, people buckets etc ... do they still call man hole covers in the street that or person hole covers?

That crane has good lifting capably. How much came it pick up in close and fully out(S.W.L).?
We hire larger cranes in( plus..dogman) for the high and big lifts(40m up and 2-10 tons).Do you use chains or slings, double rap or choke.
Love the work keep craning..

In close it is good for 36000pounds and at 100'4" from the truck(horizontal) its good for 1210#. This is complying with the load charts.
I use chains, nylon slings, Rope and knots. The attatchment varies sometimes straight choke sometimes 1/2 hitch then choke. Ususually with rope its a 1/2 hitch then a clove hitch.
