Default More helmet camera

This was today?s job, although only a morning really. A skinny beech tree in a back garden, pretty straight forward. This was Andrew Bennets job who you?ll see do a beautiful job with the portowrap, especially with the 19mm rope towards the end.

Eric I took your advice and set the camera further back on the helmet and I think it has indeed made a difference.

Last vid for a while, apparently I?ll be divorced if I continue to spend so much time on the forums?? so there you have it. Enjoy the footage, about 7 minutes.

Excellent, you are getting more editing creative!

Nice use of the felling lever.

Tell your Mrs to register here and we'll sort her out!

Now, I gotta ask.

Timber hitch for lowering block attachment (noticed you also tied pieces with it but had a hitch in as well) with tail tuck only going maybe half way around the trunk ... pro's and con's?

I ask as generally it's accepted that you wrap around the back past 12 noon to perhaps 9 o'clock or 3 o'clock position. Sorry mate, but you know, next thing a noob drops his bundle.

Well spotted Eric.

Pros are its very fast and gets rid of all the excess tail. No cons for...well I must have been tying off that way for 10+ years.

You're right to bring it up though mate... if in doubt, stick to the text book

Great video once again Reg. Them beech tree's sure seem like ugly mofo's.

I believe that with the timber hitch a minimum of 3 wraps is the go, and for more friction against the wood - wrap it around the trunk trying to keep them all balanced with each other for maximum hold.

Timber hitch/Half hitch is also my number one for lowering out big wood.

It is water and dust proof. Very expensive over here, about ₤600. Much cheaper if you order direct from the States. Haven't really looked at the warranty, probably 12 months standard. What I like about it is that you switch it on, lock the keypad and then just start/stop the record on the wrist-remote as and when you want. So making the video doesn't really intrude on the job at all.

Nice one RC

No go spend some time with the Mrs and rack up enough points to make another one

Or get a laptop & wireless and at least sit with her in the same room while on here... worked for me
