Short video attached showing kick back testing of new chains/bars. I slowed it down to 10% of normal speed so you can see how fast all this happens

You get taught all about kick back, but you dont realise how dangerous it is ,but you do, You know what I mean,You can see why a lot of accidents happen in the arvo when you are fatigued, Or when your being slapp happy. I think to the average Joe Blow most think it's all crap, It'II never happen to me attitude. Scary Stuff

Amazing, I wonder how much down tesion, if any the was on the saw. It looks like even if the inertia brake (chain brake) was working properly someone could get a pretty good tap with the bar. With a bar that length the mass coming back could strain musle, ligaments and joints. Always know where the tip of the bar is. PLEASE!!! Like JayD said fatigue is probaby the most common cause of injuries. |

My Goodness. Just Imagine if the Chain Brake wouldn't Operate. I have seen Chain Brake Springs, that Full of Dust, where it could not Operate Properly. Also Imagine some Wise A$$ Fool operating a Chain Saw with One Hand on the Chain Saw, and the other up his Arse. Scarry Stuff. Thanks for Posting this Video. Bruce.
