Bad top snatch video| bad ride 3mins and 3mb WMV digitally enhanced view of that video I have had for some time, it's slowed and zoomed with some stills. The man is very lucky. Only one tie in point, his flip line, and it was a few stubs that saved him and stabbed him. www.palmtreeservices.com.au/video/yeeha.wmv ![]() ![]()

He's lucky he didn't get a body part pulled into the pulley by the running rope!

So what was his mistake, cause i sure don't want this to happen to me. Did he make his attachment point to high? if you know what I mean? The distance from his block to the attachment point.

A climber i hired did the same thing the other day. The tree he was in was leaning though. I think that makes the kickback even worse and more dangerous. i thought the top of the pole was going to snap off.

Too big a top really, that was the biggest factor besides not letting it run as much as could but we dont know what was down there. Whip sticks.

If you watch it in full play and listen really well. youll understand he will have more then a talk w/ the groundy. somebody says oh sh-- or sorry ......I cant remember in regard to not letting the rope run ..its on youtube some where try this one its called "tree cutting 1" the guy is just as risky big load, small tree, poor rigging tech

thats one cracker of a stuff-up;he should have had another point of contact but i must say the blame really falls on the clown on the end of the rope;the head should of been 'plonked' and if he had a friction drum it really is quite simple provided youve got a good man on the drum. it wasnt too big the head but youve got to let it run further than that to eliminate the whip lash effect; you can hear the groundy yellin "sorry, sorry"!! bet he got some verbal punishment when the climber got down. cheers clarke |
