Yep thats an oldie but a goodie (or baddie?) that guy would have been sore for a week after that ride pretty rough alright.
Sad to say I've had a couple of rides not too disimilar over the years......

Default Bad top snatch video| Bad ride

Bad top snatch video| bad ride

3mins and 3mb WMV digitally enhanced view of that video I have had for some time, it's slowed and zoomed with some stills. The man is very lucky.

Only one tie in point, his flip line, and it was a few stubs that saved him and stabbed him.

Yep those stubs must have left the oddest looking marks! He could always say he was attacked by a giant octopus

So what was his mistake, cause i sure don't want this to happen to me. Did he make his attachment point to high? if you know what I mean? The distance from his block to the attachment point.

A climber i hired did the same thing the other day. The tree he was in was leaning though. I think that makes the kickback even worse and more dangerous. i thought the top of the pole was going to snap off.

Too big a top really, that was the biggest factor besides not letting it run as much as could but we dont know what was down there.
