The teams swap trees for each heat so in theory at least any advantage that one tree may give is evened out through swapping and repitition. I want get into the scoring system but basically it's the difference between the fastest time in each heat and the second time. This means that there is incentive for the second placed climber to keep going. Obviously ther are penelties for various infringments. The Trans-Tasman event is still young (only three annual events) so the rules and format are evolving as we go. Like you say Trev. The spectators love it. Next one is in Newcastle in May. | |

Sorry also meant to say that the events are tested pretty thoroughly by good climbers prior to the event to make as even as possible. Hey Jim. You are right with picking the climbers. ![]() Cheers Kauriman |
