Default Felling a lightening struck split gum tree

The gum tree was struck by lightening quite close to the ground (about 20' up).

The tree is weighted and back leaning toward the house and the darned split is parallel to our felling direction.

We put two side ropes on it to prevent it from going back on the house should it have slabbed etc plus a third pull rope onto the ute to pull it over.

It's a bit of a movie with plenty of scenery to the jobsite, enjoy.

Around 6.50mins and 35mb WMV

Well done.
With such good access I would have gone for a tower on that one, but you got it down safely and saved the money.
