Default Big Ironbark

This is the video of what we did with the tree on this thread.

YOU rate this hazard - tree - fork

Yes, we had a bucket truck, pruned, cabled and reduced.

See for yourself how this tree owner wont have to fear this tree anymore.

4.43mins and 23.41mb WMV

I did, I cabled it to the 4WD.

Nothing happened to the fence, didn't even bend a star dropper, just bush wire fences anyway.

The guy bought some more fencing wire, was $100 for 100m! That's cheap, he has 3 dogs so if I lived there I'd fence off a vegie patch.

Dearly beloved,
we are gathered here today to celebrate the life and times of,

Eucalyptus Sideroxylon

Or "Old Ironbark" as he was known by family and friends.

He lived a rich and fullfilling life.
His family remember him fondly as a strong attractive seedling.
While many perished in the war he survived and continued to grow
He outlived many a celebrity, and witnessed many changes of government.
He stood tall through the stock market crash of "87",
and was there to see man landing on the moon during the 60's and 70's.

While his declining years were marred by ill health and ugliness,
he always managed to stand during the national anthem.

Here's to "Old Ironbark" , you will be sadly missed by,.....

no-one.

R.I.P.

7/8" or 22mm made locally here it's 9000kg breaking.

Not as strong as say samson rope but it could get crushed etc so I take a disposable attitude to it. But it's faired well actually.

It's the first link in this post

I bought 80m not 50m.

It is heavy too so sometimes I have to pull up a smaller rope first then the big one.

Ropes, knots and rigging references

80m allows for redirects and doubling etc where req'd. I keep it in a large plastic tub that you buy from Bunnings for $20

In memorium,

Ironbarks remains will be cremated,

and there will be ceromonial sprinkling of the ashes

under the lemon tree in the back garden.
