Hey there. I'm new. I'm having issues working with site. I'm hoping someone can tell me the name of my tree. NOBODY has been able solve this mystery. Now if I could only figure out how to upload pics. With any luck... they will follow. Thank you in advance. |

thanx, I know so little about trees or about down loading pictures on the internet. so, with that in mind; we have recently moved into a house with several trees in the back yard. all of them were pretty simple to I.D., due to the fact they still have fruit on them. however, there is this one i don't know about. With everyone's help, I should be ok. looking forward to learning all i can. Bill |

hi guys im new to this so bear with me. Just wanted to know if anyone can help me out. My wife and i will be arriving in Queensland in April next year and will be looking for work asap. I've been in horticulture and trees for the last ten years, and currently work for a british Arb Association approved contractor. Im a competent climber and work on a daily basis with everything from hedge cutting to crane dismantles and everything inbetween. Im looking for any work involving trees, weather it be climbing or grounding and already have a holiday working visa, although if the posibility of a permanent position comes up that would be great!!!. Can anybody help?, cheers......fraggle

Australia's population just cracked 22 million today. And QLD still is way out the front for growth, but it's all in one small SE corner. This has been going on for years and the infrastructure is burdened. 3101.0 - Australian Demographic Statistics, Mar 2009 Australia population 22 million 1 OCtober 2009

| Hello from Anchorage...where we are having a real fall... with the maples showing all the colors from creamy yellow to a deep fiery red. Quite a change from what we are used to! Almost 50 degrees here and the sun is just getting a chance to peer over the mountains .... yep, scenery is beautiful and when the weather cooperates, it's fantabulous. Have you ever done a tree appraisal?

Hi all What is the latest news on the Draft Australian standard for significant trees ? Does anyone think it is un reasonable to use the British Standard D B H x12 for Eucalypts ? any better suggestions for establishing a tree protection zone ? Alan W

Hi I'm seeking answers to the meaning of life, because green things, (particularly Palms and Golden Cane) shudder and die before I've even paid for them. Despite that accursed 'kiss of death' baggage, I really like green things. |

Water is the key ingredient. Most potting mix turns hydrophobic within 14 days.

Thiese days I'm enrolled in school to futher my knowlage in the field in hopes of someday being able to travel and work as a consultant. have a good day!!! john01 |

| Hello to all those who contribute to this amazing website! As a self employed Gardener, I often get a laugh when I give people my business card and they see my last name is Tree! How appropriate!! But I love what I do and I am looking forward to using this website to get to know others and build on my knowledge. I have just paged through Sterling Macaboy's "What Tree is that?" An amazing work, but I still did not find two tree's I am trying to identfy. It is a big work trying to identify tree's. I will have to post an image and put it out there to you all! Kind regards, Ann. |

Hi I am a home gardener and have been browsing your site. I hope someone might be able to help me with my magnolia tree. I inherited this magnolia tree with the house which I bought 10 years ago in Sydney's North Shore. For the first few years it seemed to be fine however it was overcrowded. So I cleared around it a bit to give it space for the tree to develop its natural shape. It gets full sun all year in a north facing garden. The top half of the tree is also exposed to those westerlies we have been getting the last few years around September and October. The tree develops buds and leaves but the buds fail to open or and the leaves don't develop and if they do, they look eaten or deformed, so that the tree looks bare all year. The bottom quarter of the tree, below the fence line, flowers and develops full sized leaves. I also found out in the height of the drought, when all the older established shrubs started to die, that the garden bed below layers of mulch been covered at some stage, in black plastic...Do you believe any idiot would do this?? I have endeavored to remove as much of this plastic from the garden bed, as I can. Is the tree in the wrong position or is it diseased, stressed or dying? Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks |

My name is Scott Robertson and I will be leaving the Army after 22 years service in Jul 2011. I'm married with 2 young kids and I have recently qualified as a Tree Surgeon/ Arborist for my re-training. We want to emigrate as soon as I leave the Army. At the moment I have the climbing, chainsaw at height, felling small trees, stumpgrinder, chipper quals. I am currently working at Tree Surgery during weekends and have recently secured the MOD contract for maintaining the clear security boundary for 2 of the military camps. The plan is to have experience by the time I leave the army. I will have completed other quals such as utility, advanced pruning/ dismantling, platform and moving up to felling medium and windblown trees. I also have a HGV drivers license. My current job is as an Army Physical Training Corps Instructor however money in the fitness industry isn't great hence Tree Surgery. Would like advice on anything about NZ emigrating and obviously Tree Surgery also any other tickets that would be good for employability. Currently thinking about Dunedin! ![]() ![]() Hope to hear from someone soon, All the best The Robertson Clan |
