Thanks for the welcome. I live in Edmonton Alberta, zone 3 and looking for all kinds of information on the trees in my new yard, around my new house.
I love gardening and digging in the dirt. I'm looking for information on my Linden Tree that is losing leaves, some turning brown, others falling off.
Does this tree need lots of water or is it still just settling in from its planting last fall? It's a large tree, but not bushy.
Thanks for the welcome.
Looking forward to finding answers here.

Hi Margaret,

Pics could help, also some other member recently posted how his tree was looking half dead ... he was spraying weed spray around the mulch, likely some got thru to the tree.

Linden will take a few years to establish with water needs. Mine looked like it was dead at this time last year although I watered weekly. Probably should have gone for twice during real hot, dry weeks. It looks great today. No tree is drought tolerant the first few years it is establishing a root system capable of filling it's needs. Keep the mower and weedwacker away! Welcome too.

for the Welcome PM.

I'm the Equipment Technician at a Golf Club in Auckland, NZ. I specialise in mowing machinery but we have some chainsaws and hire a chipper as necessary whenever treework can be carried out in-house, for which I'm also responsible for maintenance on.

My main interest here is in safety, servicing and operating experiences.

Recently returned 'home' after 2 decades in UK. So I'm a bit out of touch with suppliers and brand names. I'll ask my questions in the main forums.

Congrats on a happy looking site Ekka.

Regards,
John.

Kool avatar, and welcome. Golf courses are a sometimes untapped source for business, esp in the winter. It helps to know a little about the game to see what is trying to be accomplished besides safety and aesthetics.
